Paws Buffer transports healthy cats out of overcrowded shelters where they face euthanasia, giving each one the time and care they need to find a loving forever home.
Due to limited space in animal shelters, thousands of cats get euthanized each year. We realized that the problem isn't that there aren't enough adopters. It's that cats and adopters aren't in the same place. Some areas are seeing an overflow of cats while other areas are seeing a lack of cat adoptions.
Paws Buffer connects the two sides by bringing in cats from overcrowded shelters and giving them a temporary home here, in our home-based charity, in an area where they have a better chance at getting adopted and finding their forever home.

Every cat in our care follows a careful process designed to keep them healthy and help them thrive before going to their new family.
We coordinate with overcrowded shelters, arrange transport, and take in healthy, already spayed or neutered cats that are at risk of euthanasia.
Every cat goes through a 14-day quarantine with full FIV/FeLV testing and a veterinary health check before joining the others.
Cats live in a safe, indoor environment with scratching posts, climbing structures, toys, and socialization.
Approved adopters are matched with a cat that fits their home. We include a lifetime return policy so no cat ever ends up without a safety net.

Fill out an adoption application and speak with our team. We'll make sure the cat's needs align with your household.
All Paws Buffer cats are adopted to indoor-only homes. We also require that cats are never declawed.
If things don't work out, you can always bring your cat back to us. Full refund within 30 days, and a safe landing no matter when.
